The AICS Kampala office operates under the People pillar, implementing initiatives in maternal and child health, inclusion of persons with disabilities, and supporting the Ugandan Health Sector Strategic Plan. Activities also include the provision of essential medical equipment and the strengthening of technical collaboration, including partnerships with Italian universities, to ensure universal access to healthcare, particularly for the most vulnerable populations in urban and rural areas.

Among the most significant projects in this area is the Karamoja Investment Development Project, an initiative requested and agreed upon with the Ugandan Government, with a total Italian contribution of €14.2 million across Phase I and Phase II, aimed at the construction and rehabilitation of 27 level III and IV health centers.
